Editorial policy

Useful, testable, and clear about uncertainty.

TestingPhone publishes guidance to help people inspect and understand phone behavior. Content should make the testing process clearer, not manufacture confidence the evidence does not support.

01

Scope

We publish material about phone testing, troubleshooting, post-repair checks, used-device evaluation, resale preparation, charging, batteries, cameras, audio, displays, browser capabilities, privacy permissions, and closely related device technology.

02

Original value

Articles are written for TestingPhone rather than copied or lightly rewritten from another publisher. A useful article should explain a testing sequence, interpret symptoms, clarify limitations, or connect a technology change to a practical phone-testing decision.

03

Sources and changing information

When a claim depends on a platform rule, browser capability, manufacturer program, software release, or another changing fact, we prefer primary sources and date the update.

04

Software-assisted drafting

Software tools may assist with outlining, drafting, translation, or consistency checks. The finished page still has to fit TestingPhone’s testing model, avoid unsupported diagnostic claims, and provide practical value beyond a generic summary.

05

Daily newsroom automation

Our automated newsroom checks a restricted set of primary sources for meaningful phone-testing developments. It may publish at most one source-backed update per run, uses a second fact-check pass, rejects duplicates and thin stories, and skips the day when nothing strong enough is found.

06

Corrections and updates

We update pages when a testing workflow changes, a browser capability changes, or a material factual error is found. Guides display an updated date so readers can tell when the page was last reviewed.

07

Advertising independence

Advertising does not determine whether a test passes, what a guide says, or which troubleshooting step is recommended. Ads should remain visually separate from testing results and article content.
